CoursesAlessandra has two teaching goals: to really bring her classes to life and inspire her students to move beyond the mere accumulation of academic credits. She has taught (or is teaching) the following undergraduate courses. Introduction to Sociology Mass Media in Contemporary Society Sociology of Film Sociology of Film, Sociology through Film Neorealism: Italian Film 1945-55 Italian Film and Social Issues Political Sociology Modern Social Movements Understanding Illness: A Sociological Perspective The End of Art Introduction to Cultural Studies Alessandra has also been putting her heart and soul in the teaching of various levels of Italian Language courses for both undergraduates and adults. From teaching Italian she has learned a great deal in terms of pedagogical strategies and communication patterns. Inspired by her vivid imagination and creativity she has developed and used a multiplicity of materials and props. She has also been creating enlightened applications of technology and multimedia (PowerPoint, podcasting, film, video) for her various classes.
